18,000 steps in Paris

Had a gem of a day in Paris. We took a very early morning Eurostar train from Ashford and alighted at Paris Gare de Nord at 9.15am. (we had spent the previous day on steam trains, so it felt extra super fast shooting through the french countryside).

Anyway it was very hot in Paris, which was most welcome and we fitted in many sights, thanks to The Batobus which transported us to lovely destinations along The Seine.

We loved 'Jardin des Plantes' which we had not visited before, as well as all the old favourites.

This photo is of Notre Dame from one of the bridges on the east side. In the foreground is a bridge covered in 'Love Padlocks'. I am not quite sure how it works but it seems to be a trend along many of the bridges. The padlocks are probably popped-on during romantic evening walks in this beautiful city.

We finished the day with a lovely meal out, leaving the restaurant at 7pm and we were back in Kent for 9pm - we gained an hour on the way home!

P.S. The steps were counted on my son's pedometer!
