Volunteer Appreciation Party

VERY hot day on the course today. After my 7 hr shift i went to the Ballantines Scotch viewing deck and sat and enjoyed a drink, treat and view of the 16th green....heavenly! Rode home for a quick shower then back for the party. There are 1500 volunteers to run this event, great people, new friends. We are all starting to get a bit nostalgic as next year is likely our last time hosting this PGA tournament. This historic and fabulous course has been sold and they plan on developing it. There is a local outcry and hopes to stop the 3000 dwellings they want to put in. We are wanting the course to remain for public use. We had a big group photo taken from raised tractor bucket, when it is released i will blip. Our appreciation party included free massages, it was heavenly after a week of 7 hr shifts standing mostly in the sun. Such fun, enjoyed the very careful bike ride home after the party and several wine...luckily i hade company with felliw volunteers travelling my way (2 blocks frim the course).
