MonoMonday:Links
For some reason I thought the theme this week was close up!
This didn't seem to do justice to our touring and I was going to post an image of my lunch - a delicious tarte de fruits.
However it didn't look nearly as good in black and white so I was quite happy to look through my other shots of the day.
This is the most appropriate.
It is a communications vehicle we saw in the Battle of Normany museum in Bayeux and I am sure provided vital links in WW2.
In 1981 Mr isbi and I commenced our tour of Europe in this area and after some discussion decided we couldn't afford to view the Bayeux Tapestry.
The oldest such work in the world, it depicts the story of William the Conqueror.
So we made amends today and were very impressed.
It is 70 metres long and the embroideries are quite beautiful and still in very good condition.
Unfortunately photography was not allowed but I did think of Jolang, Paladian and 59 who would all have appreciated the workmanship.
The extra shows us enjoying our evening meal in the lovely grounds of La Balanderie where we are staying. After our restaurant meal last night we opted for a supermarket dinner of cheese, pate, bread, wine etc. Always delicious.
