Low Tide Newtown Creek
A pleasant evening for a walk around the wide open spaces of the Newtown Nature Reserve.
This area on the northern coast is a tidal area of extensive mudflats and saltmarsh and is a haven for sea birds. This evening the evocative calls of curlew were much in evidence.
At low tide the salt marshes are exposed with many channels leading out to sea. There is a small harbour here with safe moorings for small yachts and fishing boats.
