Aakenustunturi
Today we hiked up to 480 metes to the peak of Aakenustunturi.
Aakenustunturi too is part of Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park. Our hike was about 10 km. It was harder route than yesterday. It was partly rocky and with rhizomes. But it was more fun. Landscapes weren’t as beautiful as yesterday, but there was plenty to see.
It was supposed to rain on and off all day long, but so far we haven’t seen a drop. Tomorrow rain and thunder expected too. We’re hoping that tomorrow will be another sunny day. We’ll be in Lapland as long as the weather is good. Then we’ll return to our “basecamp” in North Savo.
We were soaking wet today. When we came back to the car, it was 30°C again. So no wonder why it was hot climbing up. This evening is cloudy and that excited the mosquitoes attack and made me panicky. So I do not want to cohabit with the angry insects. So we’ll see what happens. There would be many more tunturis to climb.
This picture is taken of the point of our return. The path was just too rocky for the dogs.
BTW, I'm now able to upload to Insta. There's now loads of pictures of Lapland.
