Do you remember back in May, I showed you these?

Well, the pretty white and black flowers have given way to pods, which in turn have produced these little green jewels.  We're having them for tea tonight with lots of butter, a bit of ham and a chunk of bread - and it will be a meal fit for a king.

Anything straight out of the garden usually bears little resemblance to the same thing bought from a supermarket.  How could it when it hasn't been extracted when not quite ready, cleaned, packed, half-frozen, stored or transported?

These will have been garden-to-table in about half an hour ........................
