Davaar Island and Kildalloig Bay
(... Two Hours after Low Tide from Halfway across the Doirlinn to the Beacon)
15.5C and mostly cloudy. Bright spells but little by way of blue sky. Moderate Westerly breeze.
After lunch Maeve the Deerhound and I went for the repeat of our usual morning walking route across the road and round to the park and the harbour and back along through town.
Once Maeve was back home and settled I went for a walk. Deacon Blue (The Hipsters) then Van Morrison (Moondance then Beautiful Vision) on the iPod Mini. I went round to the harbour where Louis was berthed at the new quay being loaded with wind turbine tower sections. Two more sections were on their way to the new quay in the usual low loader and escort convoy as I was walking past Aquilibrium.
I went along by the ferry terminal and followed the shore side of the park and on out Kilkerran road to the NATO jetty at Glenramskill and then kept going until I reached the Doirlinn. The fields next to the Doirlinn were busy with tractors and forklifts taking in a harvest of Hay or silage. The bales looked very green. Instead of heading for the 69 mile marker on the Kintyre Way as I had intended I walked across the Doirlinn to the beacon. It was about two hours after low tide and quite windy so I thought it would be a nice change to walk out and stand in the wind right out in the middle of the loch. I very much enjoyed it.
I came back across the stones and shingle then rejoined Kilkerran road to come home the way I had gone then went back along the street side of the park and home though town passing the town hall and the second hand bookshop (closed on Wednesday afternoon) on the way.
Afternoon music ... Faith Hill's There You'll Be then The Essential Martina McBride.
