Cricket match on Cattistock village green

I left Pat's early in the afternoon and drove a couple of miles to visit M, his sister before driving home. M. moved to the village about eight years ago and has become involved in village life.  She took me to an open garden event which was raising money for the church roof, I think.  It was delightful to walk into a garden full of local people and I felt at home.

When I finally drove away I saw that Cattistock Cricket Club were playing on the village green so I thought I would spend a few minutes there, before heading up to a nearby hillfort at Eggardon Hill. I stayed in the background taking a couple of pictures and watched this classic summer's afternoon scene.
