Standing tall....

Brought another batch of cows and calves in to wean this morning, so rather noisy tonight.
Went and fed the cattle down the road after lunch then back home , took the baler off the tractor and was going to spread fert on the rape field that the contractor was busy drilling. Wee brother arrived in to say he thought the silage would do to bale despite last nights heavy rain so hitched the baler up again and off I went . Another 120 bales wrapped by 8pm.
The field of oats is a variety called Atigo. Last year was the last year we grew Forward, a very old , long strawed variety which we have grown for the last 35 years. Most years it would get flattened by the weather and be a nightmare to harvest so this year we are growing the shorter strawed variety Atigo. There are some volunteers from last years crop which show how much taller Forward is.
