........an interesting life........
This man died on July 22nd.......but the news only came out today..........He is Chief David Bald Eagle of the Lakota Sioux and since 2001 Chief of the United Native Nations. His grandfather was Chief White Bull and he fought with Crazy Horse at the Battle of Little Big Horn.
Born in 1919 he fought in WW II, winning the Silver Star at Anzio and was severely wounded parachuting into Normandy on D Day.
After the war he became a drummer in a Big Band...and then a professional Ballroom dancer.......when his first wife died he moved to Hollywood and became a horse wrangler.......and stunt double for Errol Flynn. It is believed he taught John Wayne to ride and shoot. He then became an actor and between movies worked in a rodeo display team. He had minor roles in many films including Dances With Wolves and his last movie premiered this year at the Edinburgh Film Festival.
Now that's what I call interesting.
I'm bored..........probably because the medication has woken me up to the fact that I've slipped into a rut in the last few momths....the days are ok.........there's little jobs to be done............the cats are active..........I get the occasional visitor...........the lovely Jen came for my second Reiki session today but could only stay for a short time..........but the evenings/nights are something else..........I miss not having someone tell me about their day and ask about mine.......I miss not bringing someone a coffee.......or a glass of wine...........I have the full Sky tv package.and I can't find anything to watch........because there's no one to discuss/argue/moan with.
Still............on the positive side the price for the garden redesign is good.....and the start date has been brought forward a week............and the Olympics start soon...........the BBC showed the James Bond sequence from the Opening Ceremony of London 2012...........absolute classic..........beat that Rio.
