Low Tide
Mike invited Ollie and me aboard Peridot for coffee today! He had brought her ashore to do some bits and pieces and worried the neighbours who thought she'd gone aground! Because she has bilge keels she can sit quite happily on her bottom, which makes this sort of thing much easier.
In other news we went and bought some new hens yesterday, from a young lad who breeds lots of poultry as a hobby. Two very tiny Pekin bantams and two Black Rock crosses. The old hens are no more. They were a breed which is specifically for intensive production, and two years is about their limit. We have had no eggs, other than the odd shell-less one, for over a month and so their time was up. Hopefully the replacements will be with us for many years to come! They are already getting friendly and settling in - photos will follow when the sun comes out!
