Green

Stroll around Skib at lunchtime today, may have done that once or twice before :) looking at a few bits of the Arts festival. Called into one I was curious about The Souvenir Shop by Rita Duffy. This is Duffy's (a Belfast artist of nationalist background) take on 1916. A recreated shop of bits and bobs, almost all for sale and many edible. A pretty subversive look at Irish rebellion and  culture. I bought a Caitlin Ní Hooligan tea towel, you could also get Padraig Pearse pasta sauce, but The Carson's Ulster orange marmalade, This we will preserve,  was sold out. Angie, an artist friend from Cork was holding the fort and taking some bemused tourists though what was behind the whole thing.
