Fabulous

Started the day by climbing the Tour Asinelli (tallest on the right)-all 498 steps! Amazed I managed it-let alone daring to look out at the top but it was glorious (and lots of railings so no chance of falling off!)-saw the whole city and hills beyond. All the terracotta rooftops-stunning
Got down again before the rush of people-so good to have been there early when it was quiet.
Had a wander around market area admiring food shops and had a lovely coffee granita by the whispering gallery.
Headed off to the modern Art Gallery via a lovely little cafe for salad lunch then lost a couple of hours in the V&A's David Bowie exhibition (extra). Brilliant -seeing so many clothes up close, relieving that Ziggy Stardust gig in Leeds in June 1973, and reading about him working with our mate Brian Eno (https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2176863608229596508 )
Had a snooze in a deckchair then walked back to near the hotel for drinks and then dinner (tagliatelle alla ragu Bolognese-gorgeous) then to the hotel to do holiday diary.
14,000 steps and a very good hot and sunny fun filled day...tired legs though!
