Chained

Went up to the West End to meet Elaine, who I hadn't seen for ages until Maria's memorial bash at the Botanics, from which she'd had to leave early. So we had a bit of lunch in Harry's for old times sake (no sign of any OU folk though) and then I took her across the bridge to visit the Dean Gardens, which she'd never seen before. It was a pleasure to amble about in them. We were rather struck by the fact that this sturdy and no doubt heavy wooden bench was firmly chained to the wall (whereas elsewhere in the gardens the garden furniture appeared to be unfettered).

In the evening we met up with an ex-colleague from the OU who was up visiting from London. We took him to the Vaults, so a fine dram was had by all.
