Dagerman, Le Clézio and Mellösa
I took my colleague and my pupils to see about this thing with Le Clézio coming to Mellösa, the village I live in.
The story goes like this:
There´s a nice book antiquariat here, and Barbro, who´s in charge, sent a gift to JMGLC when he got the Dagerman-price earlier this autumn. She found a first edition of Stig Dagermans "The Serpent" with a dedication from Dagerman to an unknown woman inside, and when JMGLC got it, he promised to come to Mellösa. ( he actually cried a bit, movedto tears on receival of the kind gift)
An opportunity of Nobel-laureate-spotting like this cannot be missed...
As a bonus we got to hear René Dagerman, Stigs son, talk about his fathers works and life. A truly inspired, somewhat cautious and humorus person.
A different schoolday.
