8 Long Years...

It's finally happened. The day most Edinburgh skateboarders didn't think would ever come.

Edinburgh has let a skatepark through the planning process. Edinburgh and Scotland's skateboarders have been campaigning long and hard for this to happen and at some points it seemed like an impossible dream against impossible odds and opinions.

The new skatepark is planned for Saughton park just outside the city centre near the zoo and is going to tender, in Sam's own words, "ASAP".

Big congratulations to all those directly/indirectly involved, the skater and bmxers of Edinburgh and to the Saughton Park area residents for what will be an enviable sporting facility for generations to enjoy.

I'm stoked and can't wait to skate it.
