Loading up

Loading up the Kadikoy ferry with water for the day.

We spent our last full day here doing the ferry thing again - across to Kadikoy and back again. We've benefited from the ferries - and other public transport - being free whilst we are here. We realise that the reasons for this are rather complex, but it's nice for tourists. (Of whom there are notably few). I realised that what's just been nice about being here is being close to and on this remarkable piece of water, that really is the raison d'etre for the whole city. We haven't really done that much, apart from bomb around on some boats, but that's been lovely as far as I was concerned, as I was very tired when we arrived.

In the evening, we had an unfeasibly expensive dinner at a lovely restaurant in another part of town, following a hellish taxi ride to get there.
