WELCOME, WORLD

I have had a few really busy days at work.  I'm up to my neck in doing three different deals just now, and my life is far too full of legal documents.  I was on a late conference call last night.

This morning the brown stuff has already been thoroughly sliced, diced, and redistributed in an airborne manner by the rotary breeze-maker.  The least of my problems is the 1,200 incorrect share certificates that accidentally went out to Blipfuture CIC crowdfunding backers!

I take a break between meetings to get my hair cut.

Walking along the street I'm going over things in my head.  How can we satisfy all the parties to this deal?  What happens if that deal doesn't happen?  Have I offended this person?  Have I screwed up that opportunity?  My head is far too full.

Scanning the BBC news website while I wait in the barbers doesn't help.  Terrorist attacks in France and Germany.  Economic gloom here.  Syria seems more broken than ever.

The barber is on cracking form.  He tells me his eldest daughter is moving out this weekend, and about the various circumstances which he presents in a comedic way.  I relax, laugh, and smile.  My head feels better inside as well as out.

I come out of the barbers and turn a corner - having not quite switched to autopilot and put my mind back on to work.  I see this.

"WELCOME, WORLD".

I am filled with joy.

I live in a country, and a city, where in spite of everything our simple message is "welcome".  We put it on a big yellow sign 20 feet high in capital letters, just to make sure everyone knows.

That's awesome.
