Halifax Town Hall

Halifax's ornate town hall was designed by Charles Barry, who also designed the Houses of Parliament. This Grade ll* listed building has a magnificent 180ft tower and a spire which is enriched with sculptures.
It was opened by the Prince of Wales on the 4th of August 1863; the first visit to Halifax by a member of the Royal Family.
In 2008 the Town Hall was judged one of the ten most spectacular in Britain by the magazine "Architecture Today".
