A touch of fae

The old and the new

Bideford might be small but it's still a working port. Cargo boats from the Baltic States and Russia regularly call by to collect loads of wood from the local plantations. These great leviathans dwarf our small fleet of fishing boats, river craft and the MS Oldenburg which takes supplies and tourists to/from Lundy Island - they look pretty imposing!

The large ship is from Russia and in the foreground is the remains of a little wooden boat that was abandoned a long time ago and was probably used for fishing upriver on the Torridge.

I've been gone for a few days partly because of the still rubbishy broadband but also because we've had some family dramas to deal with too. I had my CT scan yesterday and now I am waiting for the results. The waiting is the worst part really. . .

I put up a couple of back blips that I did have time to capture whilst I was away:

1st August
27th July

I will try and catch up with everyone's journals over the weekend!
