Water lily

Our wee pond is looking good this year. The two water lilies are now blooming and the pond water has stayed remarkably clear. There is life - mainly pond snails ( how do they get there???) and some sort of beetles and pond skaters. No doubt there are other things I can't see or recognise, but there are definitely no amphibians. The cats like to drink there, as does Mrs Blackbird.
