We are now back home, but before we left we had time to quickly nip into the RNLI lifeboat station and the Queens University Belfast Marine Laboratory, which were both having open days as part of the Strangford Festival (which was also marking the end of Skiffie Worlds 2016). This photo is of an experiment being done which (as far as I could gather) is simulating individual rock pool environments and looking at the effects of different organisms being introduced at different times.  The extra photo is a close up of the lifeboat - which was funded by a Blue Peter appeal a few years ago.
