Delicate but Tough

Papaver burseri, an alpine poppy.  Fragile tissue paper flowers which dance in even the gentlest breeze.  It belies it's delicate appearance, thriving in some pretty inhospitable, exposed places in the mountains.  

Not difficult to raise from seed, it does ok in the garden but is short-lived, not invasive like some of it's lowland relatives.

An odd day.  Up until 330am with Amy ... for no reason that she could talk about and now while I am at work again, the others wait for Ruth's asthma problems to be checked out by a doctor.  A flashback kind of day :-(
