For sale?

The German housing market is...odd. Or maybe just different.
They don't seem to advertise. When you walk or drive along a street you have no way of knowing which properties are on the market, there are no estate agent's boards. Once in a blue moon you see one, as in today's blip, but usually the way a house is sold seems to be through word of mouth. If you want to buy or rent somewhere new you ask your circle of friends if they know of anything on the market or coming onto the market. Tricky when you're moving over from another country and don't have an established circle.
