Pew Tor Piskies

A Tor is large free standing residual lump of rock found on the top of a hill in the south west.

This is Pew Tor which stands above Whitchurch Down near Tavistock.

An early morning dog walk was made spooky and eerie by the sounds of hunting hounds baying, rising up from their kennels in the valley. This was further accentuated by the discovery of a dismembered and disembowelled sheep. Whether it was the breakfast of the Hound of the Baskervilles or the Beast of Dartmoor (black panther) I was unsure.

Local legend has it that the king of the Piskies lives on Pew Tor. Apparently, if due respect and courtesy is not shown then a gang of piskies will pinch and punch you, until you are as blue as a whortleberry (blueberry.)

I could think of a few people who I would like these piskies to set about!
