A sticky problem

Minty was somewhat perplexed to find that the bold Mabel had commandeered his beloved well-chewed stick, but far too much of a wuss gentleman to reclaim possession,

then,

when it was sternly pointed out that sticks are not allowed indoors, they both denied having anything to do with said stick.
