Agapanthus.....

These are the flowers of the Agapanthus plant. Also known as the Lily of the Nile though they actually come from South Africa. I love the intense blue of the flowers. We first saw them in California where they seem to grow like weeds. When we came back we noticed them in the local garden centre. A cold winter can do for them but, with care, they thrive even in Manchester.
