Enjoying the view

We checked the tide tables and went to Ruby's beach at low tide this morning.  There was a good stretch of beach, and we wandered along looking for geoducks, getting squirted by them, and collecting shells.  We found a moon shell, a real beauty and only the second I've spotted here.  The athletes ran and jumped on the beach, jumped over the waves, and tried to skip rocks,  while the used-to-be-an-athlete waded and took pictures.  It was the perfect morning, and we had the beach to ourselves for a couple of hours.  Just as we were drying our feet and getting ready to leave, a young couple with a little girl arrived, so after a brief chat, we left and they had the beach to themselves.  The little girl ran into the water, splashing and laughing, and she reminded both Kalyn and me of our visits to Ruby's when she and Krista were little girls.
Home for lunch and a walk in the forest - no visit is complete without a walk in the forest.  Then it was time for them to pack and get ready to head home.
It was such a good visit and it was great to finally meet Markus.  He's a pitcher and is heading to the US on a baseball scholarship in a couple of weeks.  It's going to be hard on these two when he leaves!
Extra:  Me and my wee Kalyn.  Even if she's at least six inches taller than me now, she'll always be my wee Kalyn.  :)
