Oran Mor

This is the ceiling mural in the Auditorium of Oran Mor designed and painted by hand by the writer and painter Alasdair Gray. It is one of the largest pieces of artwork in Scotland. His motto (which is painted on the ceiling and inscribed in our new parliament building) is "work as if you live in the early days of a better nation ".
He is now in his 80's and in a wheel chair. Still lives in Glasgow where he was born.
