A Walk Through The Neighborhood
Early this morning before the rains came I took a walk through the neighborhood using the roads less traveled. I was amazed at all the changes I have missed over the years.
When my parents bought their home over 40 years ago, it was in a solid working class neighborhood that at the time a good job for one person could afford. Forests were everywhere. I spent many hours riding my bike and playing in them. Today the neighborhood is vast mix of everybody EXCEPT... Most of the forest is gone with runoff ponds for the displaced water. Upper class is in private communities with fences and guards. Us in the middle are in very mixed communities with $175,000 50 year old homes alongside $350,000 homes and everything in between.
A very great day doing the little things including going out to lunch with dad and a very very slow wonderful walk... .
