Old county jail, Fairmont, WV

This jail was operational until about 15 years ago, when it and others like it in West Virginia were replaced by regional jails, which are modeled after the Federal Supermax prisons. The new regional jails are true monstrosities, all concrete block, floodlights, and razor wire.
