Mind you, would you like to know what rankles with me even more? You would, I know, even although this is something of a rhetorical device. It is the modern habit of embedding the television news reporter in the crowd, with his/her back to the reported event. He shouts to camera amongst the uproarious throng as Wiggins shoots past; on other occasions he/she whispers to camera as a grave event unfolds. What a load of bloody rubbish. Rubbish!
