Calke Abbey

Today was a fabulous day spent with friends and dogs at Calke Abbey.

We went together in the car and because of the fantastic Christmas gift of National Trust passes from my Mum, our entrance didn't cost us a penny!

A lovely day was had by all, walking well over 3 miles. We had a chance to explore, climb, swing on a rope and the girls got to dress up too.

We took our dogs with us and kept them on the leads - thankfully no sheep were harmed.

And my two heart melting moments were....

1) sat on a bench waiting for my friend to come back from the cafe, Aj turns to her friend and says "this is a lovely day isn't it?"

2) In the car on the way home, my friend's daughter calls my name, I let her know I'm listening and she replies with "I love you".

See, the squabbling, tantrums, whinging and the continuous requisitions are all wiped clean when you hear/see things like that :)
