Day 216 of 366 - The ruins in the Churchyard!
Today's image was taken this afternoon in the Warwickshire town of Kenilworth. It is a view of the ruins of an old Gatehouse that stand in the Churchyard of St Nicolas Church. This old Gatehouse would have served as one of the entrances to the long gone Abbey of St Mary. The Abbey would have originally dated back to about the same time that Kenilworth Castle was built in the 12th Century. The church near to were the ruins now stand was built sometime in the 13th century.
The photo was taken using the app ProCamera on my iPhone 6.
First I used the app Handy Photo to edit the photo. I cloned away the modern warning sign from the window of the Gatehouse. I also increased the contrast a little. I then used the app Stackables to apply the Timber formula to the image. Next I used the app DistressedFX to add the Cole overlay and the Vanilla texture. Finally I used the app PhotoToaster to add the Recover Highlights preset, the Drama FX and a Medium dark vignette. I then added the Old Paper texture and the Burlap frame.
