Palm Flower

We have a large palm of some type by the deck only a few feet away from a window. We just noticed that this 'flower' had opened with strands in a very elegant display. I remember that in the winter the palm had a load of marble sized orange berries on it, which I assume will appear again.
I must find out a bit more about them !
