GPS Maze Europe

On Saturday it is the 9th annual UK Geocaching mega event which is being held in Llangollen. I am unable to go on Saturday but there are a series of events and new caches in the area as geocachers from all over the country (and abroad) converge on North Wales. Today I went over to Llangollen to see what was going on.

One of the biggest attractions is GPS Maze Europe which is in UK for the very first time. This is a major bonus for geocachers as there is not only do you get to visit a fascinating geocache but you get a rare icon on your geocaching page.

The GPS maze is essentially an exhibition explaining all about geocaching with some excellent displays and examples. I was extremely impressed with the presentation and really enjoyed my hour wandering around doing some lab caches at the same time.

Afterwards I went for a walk around Llangollen to do a handful of other caches and it was fun to bump into other geocachers doing the same thing.
