Over the weir
This is Bowston weir on Monday, when one of the sluice gates appeared to have rotted or been washed away; the water rushed away down river, leaving a large area of shingle on the bank. Either it's been fixed or the increased water after last night's rain is too much for the sluice - anyway, everything looks back to normal this evening and the river is flowing over the weir as usual. Just proves you always need a camera with you, you never know what to expect even on a well-trodden path.
