Urban jungle
Moscow metro system has launched a new train recognising the Amur Tiger (aka the Siberian Tiger). It's been done in collaboration with the Amur Tiger Programme and the Russia Geographic Society to raise awareness of conservation efforts. Once seriously endangered, it's good to see the numbers are increasing - the tiger population is up 10-15% over the past decade, to about 540 animals, according to Amur Tiger Programme.
Interesting to read too that the Amur Tiger "once ranged throughout all of Korea, north-eastern China, Russian Far East, and Eastern Mongolia". That's almost the same area that I 'ranged" through during the last half of last year!
