Reversing

A rare shot of the Waverley reversing off the pier.  Only necessary when there's a really, really low tide.  

I spent the whole day moving stuff around in the garden.  I even planted next year's bulbs.  Yikes!  Had to be done 'though, we've had so few dry days that there was a backlog of things needing done.  And now after three nights of disturbed sleep everything aches.  No energy for comments.

The Waverley left the pier at 9.00pm, late for the Thursday sailing, just as I was putting everything away.  I'm left wondering if she delayed her return so there was a bit more depth beneath the hull.  It was a particularly low tide and she's been known to get into difficulties at our pier when the tide is too low.  

This always looks like such a tricky manouevre, heart in mouth stuff.  Hats off to the captain.
