Chalet

This amazing structure was assembled recently and I wondered what on earth it was meant to be apart from looking like a chalet!! Apparently it marks the site of the historic Aldgate in the City of London where Chaucer lived from 1374 - 1386 and the start of High Street 2012, the route to the Olympics at Stratford. The Palace on Pillars by Studio Weave is inspired by the two dream poems written by Chaucer whilst resident in rooms above the gate "The House of Fame" and "The Parliament of Fowls". So the plaque says!!

Phoebe Clara was born this morning weighing in at 9lb 2oz and I am a Great Aunty for the second time. She was born the day before her sisters 2nd birthday!! Close shave there.
