Young Padawen...
Camp Bestival Day #4
Our "last day"already...
We took a slightly leisurely morning, half packing our stuff up to achieve a swift getaway in the morning.
Last year Alex got stuck in the massive mid-moring exodus for 3 or so hours & didn't want to repeat that. I can't empathise as miraculously F & I missed it and got a good getaway.
By lunchtime though, Alexander had made a trip to the car with all our surplus and we headed to the festival to catch the enjoyment of our last day.
By this time F&G are well versed in sharing the trolley and we leisurely strolled around the places we hadn't yet visited.
The Soul Park was a new addition & was (disappointingly) a highly inflated priced Healing/Pamper field. There were massages, yoga, hammocks, lots of bare feet..& lots of £££'s on the display boards outside.
Later on, whilst Alexander took Marley, Gracie & Ferguson on the Merry-Go-Round, Evie & I visited the Knitting Tent to learn how to finger knit. Upon seeing her progress, I subsequently showed Marley how to do it aswell.
It's definitely one of those annoying things were once you start, you can't stop until the entire ball of wool is gone!
Another sunny, bright and bakingly hot afternoon progressed with lots of fresh apple juice (which F&G fought over each other to get to, almost pulling my dress down in the process!) some fabulously discounted ham & cheese croissants, and some yummy fresh bread from the Farmer's tent. We had a bargain buffet feast!
The evening came all too quickly, Evie & Marley had a dressing up as silly as possible contest and Gracie was "Miss Christmas" in a little santa dress & hat.
Ferguson (with his much prized sword) was busy practising some Jedi moves and I took way too many photos of him.
This photo was quite accidental. He was stood in his own world, swishing & fighting his imaginary nemesis with his back right against the beautiful sunset.
It seemed almost poetic and magical, I couldn't resist..
The night ended spectacularly with a fireworks display.
Tiredness got the better of Gracie & almost of Ferguson. She slept through the ooh's, aah's, bangs and explosions.
Once all 4 of them were tucked up cosy in their sleeping bags, blankets, cuddly toys and cushions galore, Alexander & I indulged ourselves in a hog roast sandwich, a can of beer & a hot cup of tea.
Bed (sleeping bag) calls, it's a very early alarm call in the morning....
