Let the Games Begin!

The opening ceremonies here at the NJ Stadium are still underway, but I thought I'd give you a photo of the Official Flag Bearer of Team Tallyho here in NJ.  It won't come as any surprise to some of you that 1) P-Hummie was chosen to lead in the athletes, and 2) that he dropped the flag owing to his very tiny feet.  One can forgive him, I think.  In this photo, P was hovering over the garden, several feet above the flowers and feeders, with the dark green woods as his backdrop.  

In other news, Team Squirrel's team had a bit of a fight in the Cafeteria - stern warnings have been issued.  And Scooby, the captain of Team Chippie was seen chasing one of his teammates right out of the arena.  I can see that the rodents are going to be a problem.  The wandering monarch caterpillar mentioned in yesterday's report is now safely in an enclosure, preparing to "j" (which is a prelude to becoming a chrysalis). Team Titmouse is all amped up on mealworms and ready to take on anything.  And I had to tell Team Finch that they would not be allowed to sing the national anthem owing to their unruly kids who can't carry a tune.  Instead, the Cicadas and Crickets sang a nice duet to open the ceremonies.
