Spiral Staircase

in St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin.

Our first full day in Dublin so a trip on an open top toursit bus was a must. Despite the rain!! One trip round and we had worked out what we wanted to see today and tomorrow (it was a 48 hour ticket) so second time round we stopped at Dublin Town Hall for a great exhibition of the history of Dublin. A must see!

From there (via a touristy shop) we went to Dublinia. If you've got kids then it's great but for two adults it's a bit dumbed down. Interesting none the same. Exiting Dublinia takes you to the entrance of Christ Church Cathedral. Interesting to note that here you can buy a discounted ticket for both attractions but this option isn't offered at Dublinia.

A short walk away is St Patrick's Cathedral. I loved this the last time we were here so another visit was definately on the cards. As cathedrals go this is one of my favourites. The stained glass is magnificent, the layout and architecture stunning and the whole place (despite hundreds of tourists) is spiritually calming.
