Friday: Olympic Flame

Given the opening of the Olympic Games in Rio tonight, it seemed appropriate to post a picture of Vancouver's Olympic torch from the winter games in 2010. It's now situated near Canada Place which I have been to a few times for meetings. I have to admit, though, that I'm not a fan of this torch - to me it looks like a bunch of very large oversized burnt out matchsticks (in aluminium).

More excitingly, from a personal perspective, is that we drove out to east Van tonight to sign on the dotted line for the new car. The journey there and back was a nightmare but the result was worth it.......to celebrate, we headed to 'Darby's' on West 4th to celebrate.
