On Carskey Beach
16.8C and mostly sunny. A few short showers in the early afternoon. Light Easterly breeze then moderate ESE, then wind to 18 mph with gusts to 31 mph SE/SSE.
Apothecary7's day off.
We decided to go to Carskey beach for a walk. As we were driving out of town we noticed a sign at the local Heritage Centre for a market so I pulled in and parked. There were a few stalls with veg, local lamb, a bakery stall, and some knitted goods. We had a wander over to the bakery stall. The couple running it are new to the area, having just moved to Carradale (on the east coast of the Kintyre peninsula). We bought two scones and two chocolate brioche.
Nearer Southend we stopped at the farm stall by the side of the road but, like the last time we visited, no eggs. There were lots of things on offer. Curly Kale, Chard, Rocket. long green Courgettes, round yellow Courgettes, Strawberry plants, Mangetout, and fine green beans. We bought a bag of the beans. Honesty jar.
At Carskey we had a wander along the beach, from the car park end to the far end and back. Maeve the Deerhound enjoyed herself following us along and having little paddles and wandering off to investigate things before trotting after us.
We went North to Glenbarr for lunch. On the way home we stopped at the farm stall at Bellochantuy for eggs. We were tempted by squares of coffee and walnut cake today rather than shortbread pigs.
Later this afternoon Apothecary7 has been in the studio putting the finishing touches to a painting.

P.S. the scones were the best I have had for a very long time !
