Williams II

An early drive to Blyth. Instead of going on the beach we headed to the harbour to do a recce for when the tall ships arrive later this month.


The boat here is (according to the information board) a Gaff rigged ketch dating back to 1914. It is currently being restored and in 2019 will repeat  the voyage made by Captain William Smith in 1919 during which he made the first sighting of land in Antarctica.
