Life through my eyes

Dunnock fledglings

We went for our regular monty visit to Mum and Dad's today and it was lovely sitting in the garden and setting the world to rights.

While we were sitting we had heard cheeping and I spotted a dunnock going into the shrubs and then later two fledglings popped out of the nest.  They thought they were quite well hidden but I spotted them and got fairly close without upsetting them.

I'd already taken a picture of monbresia (not sure if I have spelt that right) and I think the clouds are Kelvin Helmholtz Clouds.  After tea we had to nip to Aldi and change the Union Flag radio as the first one ate batteries (in 40 minutes they were flat) and the speaker didn't work on the second one!  There were still some Team GM goodies on sale that "fell" into the basket and a couple of the vintage cushions which look nice on the living room chairs.

We got back just in time to see the end of the road race in the Olympics.  Sadly a crash on the descent for Big G (Gerraint Thomas) when he was in a medal position, but he got back on and finished 10th with Froomey 11th.  Sadly though he has been taken to hospital so fingers crossed it's not too bad as the Vuelta starts in two weeks time.
