This is the site of Skerryvore

Skerryvore was the name of the house that Robert Louis Stevenson lived in from 1885 -1887.
During his time there he suffered ill-health and was often housebound. It was during this time that wrote many of his famous pieces including Kidnapped and The Strange Case Of Dr Jeckyll And Mr Hyde.
The house was named after the Skerryvore lighthouse constructed by his grandfather off the Scottish coast.
My extra photo shows a model of it constructed at the bottom of the garden, which can just be seen under the trees by the keen-of-eye, in the initial photo.
The house was finally destroyed by German bombardment in 1940.
