Norton Priory

The museum at Norton Priory has just re-opened after a £4.5 million re-vamp. And very good it looks too. The official opening is next weekend but we went along today before the crowds.

After looking around the museum we headed down to the walled garden. At the back in what would formally have been the bothys for the gardeners is a small tea room where we enjoyed a cuppa and a scone in the sunshine.

Just before we left we headed round the outside of the garden wall and discovered the ice house. The doors were open and you could go inside and see the interior which was complete. A first for me.
