View from a hospital window.
Very wet and windy day.
I was on my way with my family on Friday to spend the week on Mull when I got a phone call from my GP that he had just received the results of a blood test I had had that morning and that I had to get into Oban Hospital immediately. Apparently my kidneys were 'shutting down' and I may need dialysis. I didn't argue and 40 minutes later I was in A and E.
Since then, with constant intake of fluid via a drip things are much better and I should be able to go home soon.
This afternoon we had a bit of excitement when the Coastguard helicopter landed to transfer a patient to another hospital. The helipad was just outside my ward so we had a good view, especially when the rain eased a little.
Once again I have cause to be thankful for our wonderful NHS. However I sure am glad I was never bad enough to need the helicopter.
